Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, FCA, FCIB, FCIT, FNIM, OON is the former executive Governor of Gombe state. Prior to this, he worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria from 1988 to 1999. He was then appointed Accountant General of Gombe State, holding this position until 2005. He was appointed Accountant – General of the Federation on the 20th of April 2005. He held this office until he resigned to start his campaign for election as Governor of Gombe State January 2011.
Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo is a Ph.D holder, roundly experienced, exposed, and educated. Although he was born with a silver spoon, he has single-handedly climbed the ladder of greatness without depending on the achievement of his father.
Personal Life
Born into a wealthy family on 4th April 1962 at Herwagana Ward in Gombe City, Gombe State, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting second class (Honours) Upper Division at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Governor Dankwambo became an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in 1999 when he was 23 years old (1999). He passed the qualifying examinations of seven (7) professional bodies and consequently was awarded membership of those professional Institutions including Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is happily married to Hajiya Adama Dankwambo and blessed with children.

Project
Major Projects:
As the Accountant General of the federation, he initiated the revolution in the Public Sector towards a cashless economy through implementation of the E-payment system; completed the institution of Treasury Single Account, TSA; instituted the Integrated Payroll Personnel Information System (IPPIS); installed a financial Management system called the Government Integrated Financial Management System (GIFMIS) which is an ICT integrated system which computerises the Public Financial Management processes from budget preparation, execution, accounting and reporting, etc.
Constructed major roads in Gombe including Gombe township road, Gumbi township road and Biliri township road.
Provided street lights for up to 51 km roads.
Criticism/Controversy
- Criticised by students of the state for non-payment of their bursary which he promised during his election campaigns in 2011.
