Political History
Badaru Abubakar ran for Governorship during the 2011 elections, but lost to Sule Lamido who polled 676,307 votes, with runner-up Badaru Abubakar of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) scoring 343,177 votes.
In 2015 the Jigawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar, was declared winner of the April 11 governorship election in the state.
He will be retiring from his current position as the governor of Jigawa State in the upcoming 2023 election.

Project
- Badaru Abubakar employed almost four hundred graduates and holders of National Certificate of Education (NCE) into the government payroll. This is a project he did to meet the increasing need of teachers in Jigawa state.Other ProjectsBadaru Abubakar, is currently running a project to build houses for the people of Jigawa state, each local government would have 40 houses while the five emirate headquarters would get additional 50 houses each.
