Buruji Kashamu (19 May 1958 – 8 August 2020) was a Nigerian politician, who served as a Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District. He was a multi-billionaire businessman, industrialist, Chairman/Chief Executive of Kasmal Group of Companies, an indigenous conglomerate with interests in hospitality, property, oil and gas, automobile and investment services. He was also the Chairman of the Group Kasmal SAL in Republic of Benin. He was known in the social circles as “Eso Jinadu”. He had about 76% share capital in the ultra-modern cotton ginnery in the Republic of Benin

Criticism/Controversy
- SaharaReporters investigations showed that Mr. Kashamu cooked a series of academic qualifications to mask his sparse education background to con the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) in accepting that he was qualified to run.He was roped in a case of mistaken identity with National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.He has also been previously charged with drug trafficking and Money Laundering.
