Godwin Obaseki is the current governor of Edo State, Nigeria. He is the pioneering and current Chairman of the Edo State Economic and Strategy Team which was inaugurated by Governor Adams Oshiomole in March 2009.

Criticism/Controversy
Governor Godwin Obaseki was heavily criticised (by Nigerians) when he described the death of Tinubu’s first son, Jide Tinubu, as a huge loss to Nigeria.
He was disqualified from contesting in the APC primary elections by the screening committee due to disagreements with the former National Chairman Of The All Progressives Congress(APC) Adams Oshiomhole
