Halliru Dauda Jika is the present Senator representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, under the All Progressives Congress. He served in the House of Representatives, representing the Darazo and Ganjuwa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, between 2015 and 2019. Jika is an engineer and businessman, who is also known as “Dokagi”.

Political History
Between 2007 and 2015, Jika served in the Bauchi State House of Assembly. In 2015, he was elected to represent Darazo and Ganjuwa constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, under the All Progressives Congress. Jika was later elected in the 2019 elections to be the Senator representing the Bauchi Central Senatorial District. He is the current Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs.

- Empowerment of 424 women and youths in Bauchi Central district with items such as cars, motorcycles, tricycles, sewing machines, and an additional ₦10,000 to each of the beneficiaries.
- Training of 200 youths (from 6 LGAs in Bauchi Central) on small-scale agricultural entrepreneurship and giving each of them ₦50,000 start-up capital.
Criticism/Controversy
In 2019, the Initiative for Vulnerable Women and Children (SIVWOC) released a statement accusing some members of the National Assembly of forgery. Jika was accused of certificate forgery and age falsification. For example, there are allegedly discrepancies in his Certificate of Primary Education and his Statutory Declaration of Age; the former stating he was born in 1979, while the latter, stating 1976. There are also discrepancies in his academic documents.
