Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi is a Nigerian politician who is currently representing the Kebbi North Senatorial District, on the platform of People’s Democratic Party. He was initially elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress. He is also the former Senate Majority Leader of the 9th National Assembly. He served in the Federal Civil Service as a Director and Permanent Secretary for a decade. By profession, he is an associate professor.

Political History
Abdullahi contested in the 2015 elections for the Kebbi North Senatorial seat, on the platform of All Progressives Congress. He emerged the winner and was also re-elected into office in 2019.
In 2019, he was announced the Senate Majority Leader of the 9th National Assembly. He serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatisation and is a member of several other committees. His legislative interests include agriculture, public service and national economy.
On 8 June 2022, he officially left the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party, resigning from his position as Senate majority leader to recontest his present seat at the Senate.
